"Coaching is a consulting process with the goal of (re)establishing or increasing the coachee's (client's) ability to act. The coachee develops alternative ways of seeing and behaving for his problem. Coaching is a development process: the coachee is supported to step out of his comfort zone and to enter new territory by using existing resources and strengths and developing new ones. The coach sees himself as an advocate of the coachee's potential. Coaching represents transparent help for self-help, based on a trusting relationship as well as mutual acceptance and the coachee's willingness to change."
